Requirements among which are:
- Quality of the spermatozoids.
- Donors in a perfect state of health (examined by specialist doctors).
- Family history – to avoid passing-on possible genetic conditions.
- We have a varied selection of donors with a range of physical characteristics.
- Donors are completely anonymous.
All sperm donors have to undergo a rigorous selection process before being accepted to Androlab’s sperm bank program.
To ensure that the semen is good quality and free of any infectious diseases, the laboratory carries out a complete analysis of the donor and the sample with a minimum of three sperm counts and unfreezing evaluations to compare the fertility of the same with frozen samples.
Among the tests that the donor must undergo are the following:
Personal interviews which focus on:
- Personal and family health record
- Sexual past and history of drug use (to evaluate the risk of HIV and sexually transmitted diseases, STDs)
- Exhaustive check of family medical history to assess possible genetic factors
- Blood, urine and semen examinations
- Complete physical evaluation carried out by a doctor
